The visit aimed at appreciating the work ZRCS is implementing under Phase One of the OVC project, which focuses on enhancing the well-being, protection, and access to essential services for orphans and vulnerable children in Kapiri Mposhi District. Phase One of the project focused on improving school retention, access to healthcare, and psychosocial support for orphans and vulnerable children through the efforts of care facilitators, teachers, and community structures.
During this visit, the IFRC delegation comprising of Faith Dube (IFRC Pretoria Cluster Office Health and Care Coordinator) and Linda Nene (IFRC Pretoria Cluster Office Health Programmes Officer) visited Mulungush Primary School which is now Baraka Primary School where they met the school head teacher Mr. Kalunga Emmanuel. They discussed matters related to pupils’ attendance records, school health interventions, and teacher engagement to assess the impact of the OVC project in the community
The IFRC delegation was accompanied by ZRCS Health & Care Manager Ruth Asaile Muzizi, Kapiri Mposhi Branch President Henry Kapya, and project officers.
