Improving women’s health by buying into the overall national strategic approach by adopting and implementing the Safe Motherhood Action Groups (SMAGs) and Maternal Death Review (MDR) strategies within implementation area.
Focus is placed on the improvement of the health of pregnant and lactating women, as well as young children (first 1000 critical days), through community awareness and education that promotes the utilization of the available Reproductive Maternal Neonatal and Child Health facilities and services, such as Child spacing (FP), adolescent reproductive health, ANC, delivery facilities, PNC, new-born care facilities and services and behaviour change strategies. The project has also constructed Mothers shelters in various Districts
The WASH component, the focuses on increasing access to safe drinking water through drilling and rehabilitation of boreholes, improved sanitation through promotion of and construction of water borne toilets
