ZAMBIA RED CROSS SOCIETY AND GOVT UNITE TO STRENGTHEN WORKPLACE SAFETY

Zambia Red Cross Society (ZRCS) today delivered complimentary First Aid training to staff from the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, strengthening a vital partnership to create safer and healthier workplaces across Zambia.

Officiated by Permanent Secretary Mr. Zechariah Luhanga, the training equips ministry staff with life-saving skills that enhance inspections, policy-making and the enforcement of occupational health and safety standards.

Speaking at the event, Zambia Red Cross Secretary General/ CEO Cosmas Sakala said, “Today’s activity builds on our existing relationship and opens doors for further collaboration in workplace safety and health training. By offering high-quality First Aid training, we are actively supporting the Ministry’s mandate. This partnership goes beyond words. It is rooted in practical, mutual action that reflects our shared responsibility to promote safe and healthy workplaces.”

The initiative strengthens the Ministry’s internal capacity and ensures that First Aid and emergency response measures are integrated into national workplace safety frameworks, contributing to a more resilient workforce.
