ZAMBIA RED CROSS SOCIETY EVALUATES ECHO-PP PROJECT

Zambia Red Cross Society (ZRCS) with funding from the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO PP) and with support from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the Netherlands Red Cross (NLRC) has been implementing a three-year project in Mazabuka, Choma, Monze, and Namwala districts from May 2022 to June 30th 2025.

The project aims to empower disaster-prone communities to take proactive measures by anticipating, preparing for, withstanding, responding to, and recovering from disasters through innovative and integrated strategies.

The ECHO-PP project focused on three thematic areas: disaster risk reduction, epidemic preparedness and response, and cash and voucher assistance.

As the project is set to conclude on June 30th, 2025, ZRCS together with its partners held a lessons-learnt session to evaluate key achievements, challenges faced, and potential improvements for future initiatives.

The lessons learnt review meeting brought together various partners and stakeholders involved in the implementation of the project. The objective of the meeting was to assess the project's strengths, weaknesses, gaps, successes, and identify areas for improvement.
